Raffia Stars & Snowflakes

Become enchanted by the joyful effect of pom poms in Wool and the Gang’s Ra Ra Raffia. Both the shimmering colors or the rustic naturals look fabulous! Raffia—a yarn made of long wood fiber (essentially paper) or shimmering viscose (also a derivative of wood fiber)—acts a little differently from your usual woolly yarn. So here are a few tips and tricks for creating pompoms in Ra-Ra Raffia!

Add a sprinkle of flurry with crisp, crocheted snowflakes on your tree and around your house! This little free pattern includes instructions for five-pointed stars and six-pointed snowflakes. Whether hung singly or in garlands, decorating packages or tucked inside a gift card, these pretty creations will brighten any day!

YARN:  Kit includes 2 skeins of Wool & The Gang Ra Ra Raffia (Sport weight, 100% viscose/wood fiber, 273 yds).  1 spool makes at least 20 stars or snowflakes; or just make a few and use leftovers for pom poms or gift wrapping.  1 spool Wool and the Gang Ra Ra Raffia (273 yds/250m); makes approx. 40 11⁄2"/4 cm pom poms.
